The goal of this conference is to explore Substance Abuse, Misuse and Dependence by older adults and its impact upon the older adult, family, and health- care provider along the healthcare continuum. Presenters will provide an overview of the unique issues and challenges encountered during health care episodes with older adults with substance

use disorders related to ETOH, Opioids, and Benzodiazepines. Evidence-based strategies to identify this population, manage their complex health care needs and offer alternatives to substance use will be discussed.

This conference is designed for RNs, APRNs, Social Workers, MDs, PAs, Patient Care Associates, Hospital Administrators and other healthcare professionals who design, implement or oversee the care of older adults across the continuum.
