Consistent with the mission of the Acute Care Geriatric Nursing Collaborative to support education for CT nurses on topics related to care of older adults, please consider the following opportunity.

We are offering one free registration to the American Delirium Society pre-conference and conference (worth $350) and one free registration for the pre-conference ($100).

We are asking applicants to write a brief essay, describing either of the following:

-Why you are interested in attending the delirium conference and what you intend to do with the information that you learn

-Share a story of a delirious patient that you cared for; describe the challenges and any successful strategies you employed to achieve a positive outcome for the patient

Please submit your essay to Christine Waszynski DNP, APRN, GNP-BC, FAAN, current president of the American Delirium Society and coordinator of the Acute Care Geriatric Nursing Collaborative at the following email:

Christine.waszynski@hhchealth.org

Essays are due on or before May 14. First and second place winners will be notified on or before May 20. The conference is June 13-15.

Even if you don't win a free registration, please consider attending the virtual delirium conference. Delirium is a potentially preventable syndrome that every nurse should be able to recognize and manage using evidence based interventions in order to minimize the short and long term associated harm to our patients across the continuum.

Please share this information and attachement freely.
